United's Little Free Pantry
IF YOU HAVE AN AVAILABLE THRIVENT ACTION GRANT, PLEASE LET THE OFFICE KNOW. WE ARE HAPPY TO HELP YOU APPLY FOR THE GRANT AND EVEN TO SHOP WITH OR FOR YOU TO HELP KEEP OUR PANTRY FILLED!
United's Free Little Pantry is in the parking lot by the 3 crosses ready to be used by anyone in need. To keep the pantry filled, please bring non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items, and hats and gloves when the weather is cold. We are very happy to say that many of our neighbors are helping to keep the pantry full--thank you so much! If the Pantry is full, you may leave your items in the Little Pantry bin in the church narthex. Donating to food banks is a powerful way to support your community, but it’s essential to do so thoughtfully. By understanding what to donate and what to avoid, you can ensure that your contributions are both safe and useful. Here are some key takeaways:
According to the Little Free Pantry website, "The Little Free Pantry offers a place around which neighbors might coalesce to meet neighborhood needs, whether for food or for fun. A single Little Free Pantry is "little." Lots of Little Free Pantries might be big. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can change the world.” — Howard Zinn |
ULC's Sharing Library
Please look through your books for items to donate to United's Sharing Library located in the upper parking lot. The library is very well used and we are always in need of more books for its shelves.
If you are at garage sales or used items shops, be brave and ask if they have any books they'd like to donate to our library. |
